About Qatar Airways

The flag carrier of Qatar, Qatar Airways is one of the few airlines in the world that has been awarded 5 stars by Skytrax. The relatively new airline was originally established with the initiative of the country's Royal Family in 1994. Doha International Airport is the airline's hub, with future plans for a second base at Hamad International Airport (currently under construction). The airline flies to over 120 destinations worldwide across Africa, Central Asia, Europe, Far East, South Asia, Middle East, North America, South America and Oceania. The company has a fleet of over 122 Airbus and Boeing aircraft and as October 2013 will be a part of the Oneworld Alliance.

Online check-in

To check-in online for your Qatar Airways flight visit their website from 36 hours up to 2 hours before scheduled flight departure. You can choose your seat and print your boarding pass to avoid airport check-in queues. You can also opt to check-in from your mobile phone with the Qatar Airways app (available for Android, iPhone and Blackberry) or if you do not have the app, from your mobile browser.

Hand baggage allowance

The maximum dimensions for all hand baggage are 50 x 37 x 25cm. The amount of hand baggage and the total weight you are allowed to bring on-board depends on your class of travel:

Economy Class: 1 piece, maximum weight 7kg.
Business and First Class: 2 pieces, maximum total weight 15kg.

A personal item like a handbag, camera, or walking stick is also included in the allowance. Laptops must be stored in the hand baggage.

Checked baggage allowance

The free checked baggage allowance depends on the route and class of travel:

Flights to/from Brazil:

All classes are allowed 2 free pieces of checked baggage with maximum dimensions of 158cm (total of length + width + height) and maximum weight of 32kg each piece.

Flights between Brazil and Argentina:

All classes are allowed 2 pieces of checked baggage with maximum dimensions of 158cm (total of length + width + height) and maximum weight of 23kg each piece.

All other flights to/from Argentina, Canada, and the US:

Economy Class: 2 pieces of checked baggage with maximum dimensions of 158cm (total of length + width + height) and maximum weight of 23kg each piece.
Business and First Class: 2 pieces of checked baggage with maximum dimensions of 158cm (total of length + width + height) and maximum weight of 32kg each piece.

All other destinations:

Economy Class: 23kg
Business Class: 30kg
First Class: 40kg
