Checked baggage allowance

The checked baggage allowance depends on the class of travel of each passenger:

  • World Traveller and Euro Traveller passengers - 1 piece of free baggage
  • World Traveller Y Class and World Traveller Plus - 2 pieces of free baggage
  • First Club World - 3 pieces of free baggage
  • Maximum dimensions of free baggage: 90cm x 75cm x 43cm (35.5in x 29.5in x 16 in)

Extra bags are allowed for an additional price. Save money on additional baggage by paying online before you fly. Bags exceeding the free weight allowance will be subject to an overweight baggage charge.

Online check-in

There are four ways you can check-in for your British Airways flight: online; on your internet enabled mobile phone; at an airport kiosk; or at a British Airways check-in desk.

Executive Club

Becoming a member of the British Airways frequent flyer program, the Executive Club, allows you to accumulate points, called Avios, and redeem them for future flights and other perks like special offers and promotions.

Flight status

Up to 14 days in advance you can check the status of your flight online and also consult further travel advice and information pertaining to your trip.

Hand baggage allowance

One piece of hand baggage plus a laptop or handbag is allowed. Both items must fit in the bag gauge at the check-in counter:

  • Weight limit: 23kg (51lbs)
  • Dimensions of main piece of hand baggage: 56cm x 45cm x 25cm (22in x 18in x 10in)
  • Dimensions of laptop or handbag: 45cm x 36cm x 20cm (18in x 14in x 8in)
