Online check-in

There are different ways to check-in for your Air Canada flight: online check-in; mobile check-in; airport check-in; self-service check-in kiosk at the airport.

Important notice for passengers opting for online check-in or mobile check-in: These services are available from 24 hours up to 45 minutes for domestic flights within Canada and 60 minutes before scheduled flight departure for all other flight destinations. (Exception: deadline for flights departing from Toronto’s city airport (YTZ) is 20 minutes).

Hand baggage allowance

All passengers can bring one standard carry-on in addition to one personal item and an extra item. The dimensions and weights for each of these items is the following:

Standard item: 23 x 40 x 50cm and maximum weight 10kg
Personal item: 16 x 33 x 43cm and maximum weight 10kg
Extra item: This item can be a handbag, coat, camera, etc. with maximum dimensions 25 x 30 x 14cm

Checked baggage allowance

The free checked baggage limit is determined by the route, frequent flyer status, and class of travel. If your baggage exceeds the limit set (in number, size or weight of the pieces) you will be charged a fee for additional baggage. You can see more details on the Air Canada website.
