Menorca celebrates World Tapas Day from the 26th to the 28th of September, a weekend for tasting great ideas in small bites.
From September 26-28, 2014, an assortment of tapas, the most Spanish style of eating, will be available in bars and restaurants around the island of Menorca in Spain’s Balearic archipelago. The tapas will be on offer at the particularly tasty price of €2 per tapa, drink included! The aim of this initiative is to be able to taste a variety of dishes during this very special weekend. Diners can try as many tapas as they please, and as varied as possible, at 37 establishments across the island. All you need to do to officially “tapear” like the Spaniards do: go from bar to bar, and from restaurant to restaurant, in the company of friends, and enjoy small delicacies made from local products.
The tapa weekend planners have also organized a delectable competition to choose the best picture from your own experience on World Tapas Day, with delicious prizes for the best three in each category. To participate, all you need to do is share your pictures on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram with the hastag #TapasMenorca14.
This tapas fest perfectly coincides with another great day, World Tourism Day, which is celebrated on the 27th of September. On this day, local councils will be putting on a series of activities for everyone to enjoy.
